If you tried making the last kid-approved Mango Immunity Smoothie from Functional Nutritionist Jessica Duma, you would know that she makes delicious recipes—so we had to come back for more! And we were not disappointed when she shared her favorite: Chocolate Chip Protein Balls.
With easy to put together with pantry staples, these protein balls combine fiber-filled carbs, healthy fats and protein for a perfect pre- or post-at-home workout snack. Bonus: they taste like a delicious chocolate chip filled treat…and couldn’t we all use one of those right now?
Chocolate Chip Protein Balls
Makes 12 balls
1/2 cup nut butter of choice
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 scoop collagen peptides (optional, but great for joints, ligaments, skin etc.)
1/2 cup unsweetened, unflavored vegan or whey protein powder
3 tbsp maple syrup
pinch of fine sea salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp mini chocolate chips
Add all ingredients to a medium bowl and stir to combine until the mixture forms a stiff ball (bonus arm workout!). Using your hands or a small scoop, mold into 12 ping-pong sized balls. Store balls in the fridge for up to 10 days or freezer for at least a month. Balls can be taken on the go, too—they will soften slightly, but still, be delicious!
