Recently, Bay Club San Francisco hosted a friendly team tournament and social event that brought together women from across the Bay Area. The group ranged from those who have been playing squash together for the past 12 years, to a number of newer participants, including recent college grads and few new arrivals to the area.
(L to R: Amara, Courtney, Izzy, and Jessica)
More than 40 women attended the sold-out event, including local female pros Lauren Patrizio, Aisling Blake, and Shirin Kaufman, along with longtime Bay Club Redwood Shores player Jacinta Corbet. There were eight teams, all comprised of one of each level player (A, B, C, and D), with Izzy Weisman (San Ramon), Courtney Sabo (BCSF), Amara Warren (BCSF), and Jessica Lanham (UCSF) winning the tournament!
We’d like to give a big thank you to Carrie Kahn (BCSF), who organized the event; NorCal Squash for providing swag, including water bottles and squash balls; and to Bay Club San Francisco for the court space and support. The feedback from all the participants and attendees has been phenomenal.
