Introducing The DROP: 5 Things You Need to Know

Drop what you’ve been doing—and try The DROP this fall. Using high-intensity athletic movements paired with high-energy music (for a preview, click the Spotify Playlist down on the right!), you’ll drop the excuses, inhibitions, and the pounds in this fun, Bay Club Signature Class, created by our own Breann Mitchell. Body-weight resistance, athletic movement, and heart-pumping DJ beats combine to empower you through your plateaus and into a healthier mind and body. But, before you start, here are the five things you need to know from Breann.

1. Attire. Make sure to wear tops and bottoms that are comfortable and allow you to move freely. You will be up and down quite a bit, and you want to be ready for anything! You also want to make sure you are sporting appropriate shoes that will give you support for all movement patterns. You’ll move forward, back and laterally, so cross trainers are ideal. Breann’s personal favorite is the Nike Zoom Pegasus.

2. Hydration. First, make sure you are properly hydrated prior to attending—this is the best way to ensure you have energy! Second, you want to make sure you bring a water bottle so that you can stay hydrated throughout the class.

3. Large Towel. Since you’ll be uber-hydrated, expect to sweat! Leave your small towel at home and bust out the large size for this larger than life workout experience.

4. Fuel. Make sure you come with energy to burn because you’re going to get moving. We suggest having a snack one to two hours prior to class. Breann’s favorite pre-workout snack is a slice of whole wheat toast topped with one tablespoon of peanut butter and sliced banana.

5. Game Face. The DROP will challenge you both mentally and physically so bring your A-game!
